BBSeniors

Description:

BB LogoBBSeniors is the high school ministry of Boys' Brigade Australia, a Christian organization for boys and young men that is spread throughout the world.

Through our object “The advancement of Christ’s Kingdom among boys” we provide a fantastic opportunity to learn about God through our weekly small group Bible studies and at the same time enjoy top games, activities, develop leadership skills and explore the outdoors through activities including camping, hiking, canoeing, caving and abseiling. The “social” component of our programme helps boys to focus not just on self but on community, social justice and their role in society.

Many of these activities can qualify boys for awards under The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme.

Each night revolves around a structure, where awards can be gained for achievements in topics as diverse as hiking to electronics, cooking to photography, gymnastics to car maintenance, leadership to making model rockets, Bible study to BB Knowledge. It’s a fun packed 2 and a half hours of adventure each Wednesday night!

Why Boys Only?

The title of the famous book “Woman are from Venus and Men are from Mars” sums it up nicely! We believe that young men and woman develop both physically, socially and mentally at different rates and levels and that being in a boys only environment “lets boys be boys”.

The impact of having older Christian male role models as leaders is very important to a young man’s development and can have a huge impact on their growth, self esteem and relational values.

Ages: Highschool (years 7 to 12)
Day & Time: Wednesdays, 6.30pm to 9.00pm, during school term.
Venue: Main Hall on Ground Floor and off site activities.
